London-based post production facility Double Negative created 300 effects shots for the hit summer movie Batman Begins. The studio's largest project ever, Batman Begins required the studio to revamp its entire pipeline and workflow. Not only did Double Negative do that, it wrote custom software as needed, including a renderer for creating more realistic geysers. Many of the new processes had BatNames, such as ?Gothamisation,? for adding extra buildings and traffic to extend live action plates. But perhaps the biggest accomplishment was to blend all the effects so seamlessly into the live action that viewers wouldn't be conscious of them.

Wit Animation is a small (but, according to their own description ?perfectly formed?) commercial production company and animation studio located Venice, California. They recently created a virtual alter ego for Counting Crows' lead singer Adam Duritz in a music video for the 'Shrek 2' hit song 'Accidentally in Love.' The dreadlocked bunny in the video, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Duritz, is Wit Animation's first foray into the world of mixing CG characters in a live action environment.
